What Is the Digital World

Purpose

The Digital World is a layered, human-first digital system designed to let individuals, families, businesses, communities, and jurisdictions operate digitally without being forced into platform custody of identity, data, or value.

What Layer 0 Is

Layer 0 defines the standards that constrain and align every other layer. It is the source of:

  • System definitions
  • System boundaries
  • System invariants
  • System interoperability rules

Layer 0 is not a product and does not process user transactions. It is the reference rulebook the rest of the system must follow.

What Layer 0 Protects

Layer 0 protects people by making it structurally difficult for any layer above to:

  • Convert humans into accounts
  • Convert rights into permissions
  • Convert ownership into access
  • Convert the system into a platform

What Layer 0 Does Not Do

Layer 0 does not:

  • Issue identity
  • Store user data
  • Move money
  • Define asset terms
  • Approve apps
  • Run governance decisions

It constrains those layers instead.
